After receiving his Estrella Galicia Player of the Month award in Abegondo, Emre Çolak told the press he was “very proud. But we’d be prouder if we won our matches”.

Referring to his goal last Saturday in San Mamés, the Turkish midfielder said “I try to score goals like that during games. I would be happier if we had won. Because we didn’t win, I couldn’t celebrate it”.

He acknowledged that not winning away “affects us”. He believes that “playing away like we play at home” is the key to winning away from Riazor

The blue-and-white midfielder highlighted that “we have to fight more. The coach is always telling us that. We play well, but we need to fight, especially in the last minutes where we have to fight more”.

Emre believes that Deportivo “doesn’t deserve this position. We deserve to be higher. We’ve lost points we didn’t deserve to lose”.

Emre is not concerned about the teams below who are finding it hard to obtain points: “We don’t care. We have to win”.
