Cristobal: “The only option is to carry on, get up and work even harder”

In today's press conference at the Estadio ABANCA-RIAZOR, Cristobal Parralo stated that “the match was conditioned by Celso’s sending off. From there on, we tried to keep the score in our favour with a 4-4-1 formation, shifting, stalling. We were in the lead. They dominated but didn’t create occasions.”

Deportivo coach explained that “it was a really hard blow for the team to concede that first goal. Levante became more confident, they went for the equaliser, which they achieved in another long-range shot.”

Cristobal highlighted that “it was a match which made us suffer in many aspects from the start. We already know that when a team is in a situation like ours, lots of things usually happen.”

The Branquiazul coach admitted that “it’s difficult for the team to receive these blows day in day out.”

He confessed that the dressing-room feels “hurt and upset the same as I do, and the same as anyone who supports Deportivo. The only option is to carry on, get up and work even harder.”

Levante coach, Juan Ramon Lopez Muñiz, believes his team “went out to dominate the game, they did a very good first half, they were losing 2-0 unfairly, they felt hope and believed in their chances until the 90th minute, and they ended up dominating the match away.”
