Fabian Schär, accompanied by interpreter Melissa Santiso, spoke to the press in Abegondo this morning.

The Swiss international described Friday’s encounter against Real Sociedad in Anoeta (9 pm, Bein LaLiga) as “very important.” He assured, “We’re going to begin to make points.”

He described the new incorporations as something positive: “Eneko (Boveda) has already debuted, and he played well. The others have trained and have trained well. Krohn-Delhi gives the midfield quality. All the new signings are going to give the team something.”

He admitted that last Saturday against Levante “there were mistakes, but we were also unlucky. Levante’s first goal is deflected as it slightly touches my head, and their second goal is a shot from 20 metres.”

He preferred not to make an opinion about Real Sociedad, but he did speak about Dépor: “We’re not living our best moment, but we are doing everything possible to get out of the situation. We’re going to fight exactly the same way.”

The way for the Swiss defender is by “training hard. That’s what’s most important. Above all staying united. The team needs confidence right now. We’re working on that by beginning with the basic stuff, step by step and taking each match as it comes along.”

Along these lines, he insisted, “we’re a team, we’re a family. The objective is very clear to us. We have the quality to get out of this situation. We do lack confidence. As soon as this situation changes a little, and we begin to make points, the mood will be better.”

Asked about Cristobal Parralo, he replied, “he’s doing a good job. This is a family, we train hard, he lives it like we do. What’s most important is to continue working each match that comes along.”

Since his arrival last summer, Fabian Schär said he is “very happy in Dépor, very happy with the fans. I value the work the team is doing, despite not living our best moment. But we can change this and get out of this.”

Regarding the goals the team has conceded, 46 so far, which make Dépor the team with the most goals against in LaLiga Santander, the Deportivista defender explained, “we work to not make any mistakes. Sometimes it’s difficult to explain. We’re in a difficult situation now. We will continue working even though there are things that are difficult to control, like a long-range shot that goes in. We’ll get out this situation little by little,” he promised.
