Fede Valverde, third Deportivista to qualify for the 2018 Russia World Cup

In the early hours of this morning, Celso Borges with Costa Rica, Fede Valverde with Uruguay and Fabian Schär with Switzerland had international commitments.
Precisely, Fede Valverde was the third Deportivista to win a ticket to the next World Cup, after Celso Borges and Tytoń.
The other three Deportivo players that also had international games (Florin Andone, Costel Pantilimon and Przemysław Tytoń) aready trained with Dépor in Abegondo yesterday.
Uruguay and Fede Valverde win a direct ticket
Deportivista Fede Valverde played an important role in Uruguay’s two official games, in which Uruguay won a direct ticket to the next World Cup.
Yesterday, Uruguay beat Bolivia 4-2 at the Estadio Centenario in Montevideo. The Uruguayans only needed a draw, but they won three points.
The Branquiazul player started for Uruguay and came off in the 60th minute for Cristian Rodríguez.
With this result, Uruguay have 31 points and are second in the South American qualifiers, with Brazil in first place with 41 points.

Celso Borges loses an insignificant game in Panama
Celso Borges’ Costa Rica who were already qualified for the next World Cup, lost in Panama (2-1) at the Estadio Rommel Fernández, against a side that were playing to qualify.
The Deportivista midfielder, as usual, played the entire game for the ‘Ticos’. He is due to arrive in A Coruña tomorrow.

Costa Rica are second with 16 points in the CONCACAF standings, behind Mexico who have 21 points and have already qualified for the World Cup. These two national teams, alongside Panama, are through to the 2018 Russia World Cup.
Fabian Schär in Switzerland’s line-up yesterday
The 2018 Russia World Cup was in play yesterday for Switzerland and Deportivista Fabian Schär.
Switzerland began as Group B leaders with 27 points out of 27 points played. They were followed by Portugal, who were 3 points behind. Both teams clashed today at the Estadio da Luz in Lisbon.
The Portuguese side won 2-0, and Fabian Schär played another entire match.
Therefore, Switzerland must go into the play-offs in November.

Last Thursday, Florin Andone also formed part of Romania's line-up at the Ilie Oanâ stadium in Ploiesti, against Kazakhstan, in which the Romanians won 3-1. He played 66 minutes and came off for C. Keseru. Pantilimon was on the bench.
