Gaizka Garitano, Deportivo’s coach, highlighted “the intelligent match” his lads played against Osasuna, a match they were not interested in turning into a box-to-box- affair.

The Deportivista coach evaluated the match: “We’ve played an intelligent match. We were able to manage our two-goal lead in the second half”, he then insisted, “we’re obtaining better results now, although the team has been playing like this for a while”.

Garitano stated, “We weren’t interested in a box-to-box affair in the second half. The players were intelligent”. He then went on to say, “We’re already thinking about the Copa match, it’s a competition in which we want to progress”.

Joaquín Caparrós, Osasuna’s trainer, told the press he experienced an “emotional” return to Riazor, and admitted Deportivo’s superiority on the pitch: “Deportivo has a lot of quality and speed, it’s a dynamic team”.
