Adrián Lapeña Ruiz (Logroño, 16 April 1996) has joined Real Club Deportivo for the next two seasons.

As a child, he played for Peña Balsamaiso CF and Valvanera CD, a team from which RC Deportivo signed Mujaid Sadick. Lapeña was then recruited by Real Sociedad when he was an U16. Up until that moment he had played as a midfielder, however, in Zubieta he began playing as a centre-back which is his current position.

After being part of the txuri-urdin team that reached the final of the U19 Champions Cup in 2014 which they lost on penalties against Real Madrid, Lapeña made the leap to Real Sociedad's B team. He was there for four seasons, all of them in Second B, in which he played a total of 111 matches and scored 6 goals. In the 2017-2018 season, he got to play a promotional playoff to Second Division with Sanse, in which the San Sebastian side was eliminated in the first round by CF Fuenlabrada.

In the summer of 2019, he terminated his contract with Real Sociedad and signed for the Belgian side, KAS Eupen. He soon returned to Spain as he joined CD Castellón in the winter market of the 2019-2020 season, and finally promoted to Second Division. Lapeña made 7 appearances, he was in the starting eleven of 3 of the playoff matches and scored a total of 2 goals.

Last year he continued in the black and white team where he played a total of 31 matches in Spain's second tier and scored 2 goals.
