Fede Cartabia, tonight’s saviour at the Juegos Mediterraneos stadium with his superb leveller, confessed he was “happy to play again, to score again which I hadn’t done in a long time.”

He believes that UD Almeria were "much better than us. You could see it all throughout the match. Luckliy enough, we were able to scratch a point from here.”

With one third into the league, Fede Cartabia summarises it as “very positive. Many new players. We’re strong at home. We’ve only been defeated once. We have to improve our games away. I’m happy with the guys that are here. It’s a spectacular group. We’ll carry on working to improve.”

Another player that had his work cut out for him today was centre-back Pablo Mari, who pointed out that “they were better than us. The best conclusion we can make is that we drew.”

The Deportivista defender stated “we’re all upset. When you don’t perform as planned or expected, you end up with a sour face. Not just the coach, we all have to be self-critical. Objectively analyse the match and think about the next one,” which is against Atletico Osasuna on Saturday at the ABANCA-RIAZOR (6 pm, Movistar Partidazo).

Summarising the league so far, Pablo Mari said “if we have these numbers (27 points in 14 matches and only 1 defeat) we’re talking about high objectives. But we have to take each week as it comes along. Football will give us another opportunity this week to overcome what’s happened today, without ignoring the fact we drew. So, we have to work as hard as possible, enthusiastically and keen. Play in front of our people and win.”
