Teresa Abelleira and Malena Queens of Europe

Deportivo ABANCA players Malena Mieres and Teresa Abelleira won the Women's UEFA U19 Championship today against Germany (0-1). This was the fifth final this age group have played and won, setting a record in the sports world.

The Spanish side beat six times champion Germany, and won their third title (2204, 2017 and 2018).

As usual, this afternoon Teresa Abelleira formed part of the starting eleven, and came off in the 87th minute for Yasmin Mrabet; Spain were already leading 0-1. Malena watched the match from the bench.

The Branquiazul midfielder stole the limelight last Friday 27 July against Denmark at the Biel/Bienne stadium.

Teresa scored a stunning goal in the 68th minute that gave Spain the victory (1-0) and set them on the road to today’s final.

Teresa was a regular in the Group stage where she played all 3 matches and the entire games against Norway and Switzerland, in which Malena waited her turn from the bench.

The Deportivo ABANCA goalkeeper came on against France; a decisive match in this stage of the competition.
