Three RC Deportivo players have an international game today: Tytoń with Poland, Andone with Romania, and Celso Borges with Costa Rica in the early hours of the morning in Spain.

Yesterday, Fabian Schär played 90 minutes for Switzerland and Fede Valverde was on the bench for Uruguay-Argentina.

Andone started for Romania in their victory against Armenia

Florin Andone lined up for Romania in their World Cup qualifying match against Armenia at the National Arena in Bucharest. The Romanians grabbed a winner in the 90th minute (1-0) thanks to a goal by Maxim.

The Deportivista striker played the whole match and had a few good chances to score.

Goalkeeper Pantilimon, who signed for Dépor today, was a substitute.

On Monday 4, the Romanian side will visit Montenegro at the Podgorica City Stadium (8:45 pm, local time).

The Romanians have very little room for error as they are fourth in Group E with 9 points, 7 points away from Poland who are at the top, and 4 points away from second place, which would allow them to play the playoff.

Tytoń was ruled out for Denmark-Poland

Deportivista goalkeeper Przemysław Tytoń did not make it into Poland’s list for their match against Denmark at the Telia Park in Copenhagen. The Danish thrashed Poland 4-0.

The Polish side will receive Kazakhstan on Monday 4 September at the National Stadium in Warsaw.

Both games are to qualify for the 2018 Russia World Cup.

Poland are at the top of Group E with 16 points, and a 3-point advantage over Montenegro and Denmark with 13 points each.

Celso Borges up against USA tonight

Celso Borges and Costa Rica have two complicated rivals to qualify for the 2018 Russia World Cup.

Thus, today, Costa Rica will play USA at the Red Bull Arena in Harrison (New Jersey, 6:55 pm, local time).

On Tuesday 5 September, they will face Mexico (Estadio Nacional de San José, 8:05 pm, local time), one of the favourites to qualify for the World Cup.

As some media in Costa Rica point out, if Celso Borges plays these two games, he will become the first Costa Rican to have played the most World Cup qualifying matches, with a total of 43 appearances.

The Branquiazul midfielder has already played over 100 matches for Costa Rica.

Schär started for Switzerland against Andorra

Deportivista central defender, Fabian Schär started for Switzerland in their win against Andorra at the Kybunpark in St Gallen (3-0).

The Branquiazul defender played the whole match in which the state of the pitch stole the limelight as it was completely waterlogged due to the heavy rainfall in St Gallen.

The Swiss have 21 points and sit at the top of Group B of the European Qualifiers for the World Cup, with Portugal 3 points behind in second place.

On Sunday 3 September (8:45 pm local time), Switzerland will play Latvia, who are bottom of the group, in Riga.

No debut with Uruguay for Fede Valverde

The Uruguayan Football Federation have called Fede Valverde for their encounters to qualify for the 2018 Russia World Cup, in which La Celeste have to face Argentina and Paraguay.

This is the first time the national side have called the young Branquiazul midfielder, who was awarded the Silver Ball in 2017 U20 World Cup, in which Uruguay reached the semi-finals.

Uruguay faced Argentina in Montevideo last night at 1 am in Spain. The match was a deadlock (0-0), and the Deportivista midfielder did not get the chance to make his debut with his national side.

On Tuesday, the Uruguayans will play Paraguay (8 pm local time, 2 am on Wednesday 6 in Spain), at the Estadio Defensores del Chaco de Asunción, in the country’s capital.

La Celeste currently occupies the third position in South America’s qualifying stage with 24 points. The first four will go straight to compete in Russia, whilst the fifth will have to play against Oceania’s champion, and the winner of this game will also play in the World Cup.
