Arribas: “It’s a difficult moment, we have to be united and row in the same direction”
Alejandro Arribas acknowledged in Riazor’s press room that “it’s a difficult moment for Deportivo, we have to be united and row in the same direction. Once the season is over, one can evaluate what has happened, and one can express oneself as one sees fit. Until the season ends, the more united we are the better”.
Regarding Villarreal, this Sunday’s rival (8 pm, Bein Sports), the Deportivista defender said, “everything worries me. They have five very good strikers. The wingers are good; all of them, They have a great team who have captured the ideas very well. They know what to do in every moment. They’re up there for something. If they have been among the top six for so many years it’s because they are doing things very well”.
However, according to Arribas, the Blue-and-Whites “are motivated, longing to seal the season, to try and finish the season, which hasn’t been good, as soon as possible. The best way is for the team to win 3 points on Sunday and start looking towards next season, which is important”.
He believes that to gain something positive out of Villarreal “Deportivo must play like they do at home. The team has to be brave, play like in the second half the other day. A longing and motivated team. It may achieve it or not, but at least it goes without fear and wanting to win. And that’s what we’re going to try to do; go out for everything, for the three points.
Asked about last Sunday’s blunder that ended with Leo Baptistao scoring, he stated “it’s the first time that’s ever happened to me. Things happen, just like life itself. A mistake, another learning experience. I hope I’ve learned so that it doesn’t happen again. I’m going to keep on working and I´ll keep on making mistakes. That’s football. One always keeps on making mistakes. The most important thing is to keep on learning to make the fewest mistakes possible”.
