Borja Valle, who scored a brace at the Estadio Gran Canaria yesterday, was the centre of attention in Abegondo’s press room.

The Deportivista forward believes that the Cup encounter “was in our hands, we did really well. In the end, the score was very complicated. Something which uplifts us and gives us wings.”

About his own performance, Borja highlighted “it uplifts you a lot, it gives you a lot of strength to carry on fighting, to carry on doing well. As a group, it has uplifted us ahead of this weekend."

Regarding Saturday’s clash against Sevilla at the Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan (6:30 pm, Bein LaLiga), the Branquiazul striker said, “it’s very difficult. They’re on a roll, they’ve played two good matches where they came back in both of them and obtained good sensations. It’s a very difficult match, it’s always a complicated team in a difficult stadium.”

Borja Valle recommends “to focus on ourselves, play our football. I’m convinced we can beat anyone performing well.”

Asked about his future, he confessed that after scoring two goals yesterday, “I’m not sure whether it’s going to change my role in the team or not. My idea was, is, and will always be to work the same way and when you have the opportunity, make the most of it, or do your best. I don’t know if it’s going to change much or not. It’s the coach’s decision. I can only continue working and doing things the best way possible.”
