Bruno Gama spoke to the press in Abegondo this afternoon after Deportivo’s first training session of the week. He was “very keen” to begin the league again on Sunday, at Mestalla against Valencia CF (6:30 pm, Bein Sports): “We like competing every weekend. There was a break, and now we can’t wait for it to be Sunday”.

He confessed, “I don’t like breaks. After missing a match, you always want the next match to arrive as soon as possible to try and win it, and forget the defeat”.

He defined the next league encounters against Valencia and Granada (Riazor, Wednesday 5 April, 8:30 pm) as “important”: “There are still ten games left, there are many points left, but they’re two matches against teams close to us. We want to gain the most points possible. But we don’t want to make calculations, we want to think about Valencia first, go for the match, work a lot and see what happens”.

Regarding this week’s rival, Bruno Gama highlights that the team has “very good players. People probably expected them to be higher than they are. We’re going to find it very difficult. But we’re going to work as team, conscious of what we have to do and go out to get those points”.

The Deportivista forward believes that April will be “fairly complicated, with many midweek matches. I personally prefer to play at the weekend to be more focused on the competition”.

He commented that the dressing room was down only the day after the derby: “We know it’s an important game, what it means. We didn’t win. We were sad. But we came from a good dynamic, so that defeat isn’t going to have an influence on the following matches”.
