Deportivo striker Carlos Fernandez has been with the Spain U21 side these days for two friendlies.
Today, Spain played against France at the Michel D’Ornano (1-1). It was Spain’s last encounter until the European Championship next year.
Carlos started on the bench and came on for Fabian on the 90th minute.
The team managed by Luis de la Fuente beat Denmark last Wednesday 4-1 in Las Gaunas (Logroño).
The Branquiazul centre-forward came on for Dani Olmo on the 67th minute.
For this reason, Carlos Fernandez missed the 73rd edition of the Teresa Herrera Trophy against Athletic Club at the ABANCA-RIAZOR last Wednesday; and he also missed today’s 14th LaLiga 1|2|3 fixture against Almeria (1-1).
The Andalusian player will arrive in A Coruña on Tuesday to join Dépor’s training in Abegondo on Wednesday.
Two goals by Fabrilista Pedro gave Portugal’s U20s a win yesterday
Fabril striker Pedro Correia played his last friendly of the year with Portugal’s U20s yesterday. He played three in total and all of them took place in Portugal.
For this reason, Sergio Pellicer could not count on the Branquiazul youth player for Fabril’s match in Abegondo against Las Palmas Atletico.
Pedro’s last match was against Slovakia (2-1) last night at the Portimao stadium.
The Fabrilista forward came on for Mickael Almeida on the 61st minute when the match was still goalless. He came out and made an impact as he scored both of Portugal’s goals (72nd and 79th minute). Slovakia narrowed the lead on the 89th.
Last Friday, Portugal also faced Slovakia at the Municipal Bela Vista ground in Parchal.
Portugal also won (3-1), this time with Pedro on the bench. Daniel Bragança, Leandro Cardoso and Nuno Santo scored Portugal’s three goals.
Portugal played the first of the three friendlies against Poland at the Algarve de Faro stadium.
The Deportivista youth player was in the starting eleven where his side won 2-0 (Elves Bade and Leandro Cardoso).
