RC Deportivo’s four international players that had matches in May and June with their national team will rest a few more days than the rest of the squad.

Hence, the Sporting Management team, in agreement with the coaching staff, have informed Celso Borges, Fayçal Fajr, Florin Andone and Emre Çolak that on Wednesday 12 July, they will have a medical examination at 9 am so that Pepe Mel can count on them that same morning.

Borges and Fayçal played two entire matches with Costa Rica and Morocco. Andone played ninety minutes against Poland, and the first half of Romania’s friendly against Chile.

Finally, Emre Çolak was in Turkey's line-up against Macedonia He was on the pitch for 79 minutes. The blue-and-white midfielder was on the bench and did not get to play against Kosovo in Albania.

The rest of the squad are on the second stage of their holidays

The first team's squad began their summer holidays on May 20 after the match against UD Las Palmas in Riazor, and will finish on the 5th of July.

Every player (except for the three keepers and injured Joselu and Luisinho), left with a personalised work plan, designed by the blue-and-white fitness trainers, led by David Gómez.

The objective is for every player to be fit to face next season and avoid physical setbacks that may arise from a tough preseason.

From Monday 12 June, the players will work out on a daily basis:

- Strength exercises three days a week: Mondays (June 12, 19 and 26); Wednesday (14, 21 and 28 June); And Fridays (June 16, 23 and 30): push-ups, sit-ups, glutes, quadriceps, hamstrings, adductors...
- Resistance work by continuous and intermittent running (at different intensities), from Monday to Friday, from 12 June to 30 June; and only rest on Wednesday 14 June.

The team had complete rest until last Sunday in order to recover from all the work this season. The fitness coaches however, advised they practise other sports.

The coaching staff also gave the players a list of recommendations:

-Respect sleep time; between 8 and 10 hours a day.
-Watch their weight as it helps avoid injuries and maintain stamina during the summer. Each football player has been asked to return with their ideal weight.
-Must not practise extreme sports.
