Emre Çolak was the centre of attention this morning in Abegondo’s press room. Our lad highlighted “It’s been a long time since we’ve lost” in his first words to the press.

On the subject of Eibar, Dépor’s rival on Saturday (6:30pm, Bein Sports), Çolak said, “my teammates have told me it’s a difficult rival, we all spoke about the team. We are going to do everything we can”.

He spoke about newcomers (Kakuta and Ola John): “They haven’t been with the team very long. I don’t know Ola John much, but I do know Kakuta. He has a lot of quality. We played U17 and U19 matches against him. I know him well. He played very well”.

Asked about Ipurúa’s characteristics (Eibar’s stadium), Çolak declared “we have quality players that can play at every ground. I like these kinds of pitches more. Along with our coaching staff, we are going to do everything we can to bring those three points”.

He highlighted he feels more comfortable playing through the middle than on the wing because “I have played many games there. But it doesn’t matter. I can play in every position, even in defence”.

Deportivo kicks off the second round of LaLiga on Saturday with 19 points. “The teams are much better now. We want to obtain more points in the second round. Each team has its own pace, they are used to the league. We also have our own pace. We have the team to be further up”.

On a personal note, referring to his first months in the Spanish league and his first experience away from Turkey, Çolak stated, “we’ve had some time to adapt. It was a bit difficult. But it’s over now. You’re going to see a Deportivo that’s going to win more matches and play much better in the second round”.
