Dépor ABANCA player Michelle Romero, amongst the 55 most voted players for the World 11 FIFA FIFPro 2019

Deportivo ABANCA player Michelle Romero is amongst the 55 most voted players for World 11 FIFA FIFPro, the ideal eleven in women's football in 2019 worldwide.

The vote, organized by FIFPro, counted on over 3,500 elite players from around the globe. Each of them chose their favorite team, which consisted of 1 goalkeeper, 4 defenders, 3 midfielders and 3 strikers, according to their performance during the 2018-2019 Season.

FIFA and FIFPro will jointly reveal the Women's World 11 on Monday 23 September, during The Best Football Awards at the Scala in Milan. It will be the first time that both female and male's World 11 are presented on the same stage.

The 11 players who receive the most votes in their positions will appear on stage during the FIFA gala to collect their prize.

The Venezuelan football player landed in A Coruña in March 2018. Since then, she has played 29 games and has scored 13 goals with Dépor ABANCA, between Second Division matches and the promotion play-off to Primera Iberdrola.

Prior to her arrival, Michelle Romero played two World Cups with the lower categories of the Venezuelan national squad. First, she participated in the U17 tournament held in 2014 in Costa Rica, in which the 'Vinotinto' reached the semi-finals. She then went on to play the world championship with the U20 which took place in Papua New Guinea, in 2016. She was also proclaimed South American U17 champion with the Venezuelan national team (2013) and U20 runner-up (2015).
