Deportivistas Celso Borges, Michael Krohn-Dehli, Fabian Schär and Fabrilistas Francis Uzoho and Ismael Diaz have been called up by their national teams for the 2018 Russia World Cup, which will begin on Thursday 14 June.

The 32 participating teams had until Monday 4 June to inform FIFA of their definite 23-men squads. On Sunday, Denmark’s squad was published, thus, 5 RC Deportivo players will take part in the World Cup.

However, in case of severe injuries, the squads can still be modified 24 hours before each team’s first game.

Borges, who will play with squad number 5, will play his second World Cup with Costa Rica, the first as a Deportivo player, as well as Schär (who will play with number 22), as both took part in the 2014 edition. They will also face each other in Russia, in the third and final fixture of Group E, on Wednesday 27 June, in Nizhny Novgorod.

Krohn-Dehli (squad number 2), Francis (number 23) and Ismael Diaz (10), will debut in the World Cup with Denmark, Nigeria and Panama.

Another Deportivista, Fede Valverde, was dropped from Uruguay's squad at the last moment.
