Guilherme was the centre of attention in today's press conference in Abegondo.

After Wednesday’s win at the Estadio ABANCA-RIAZOR, the Brazilian midfielder believes that the Branquiazuis “are more confident to play against Espanyol. We know it’s going to be a very difficult match and a tough rival. We hope to come back with three points”.

He expects a “difficult Espanyol” tomorrow in the RCDE Stadium (12 pm, Bein LaLiga). “Especially after not having gained as many points as they expected. They’re going to come out full force”.

He expressed his desire to come back with points from Barcelona: “Three points are important but gaining points without conceding any goals, even more so. We know we can do it”.

Therefore, he repeated that “we’ll be going with more confidence. If we had lost against Alavés it would surely be more difficult. Now we have more confidence, we're more prepared. We believe we can do more”.

He admitted that at the end of the match against the Basque side, “we felt a little relieved, and satisfaction for the work we’ve been doing. It’s one of the best games we’ve played since the start of the league”.

Regarding the last match, Guilherme stated that “during the first half we didn’t play well. After scoring, we played and combined more, and we had more chances. We needed confidence”.

He highlighted that it was important that “we didn’t concede a goal. We were more intense. They didn't have many clear goal-scoring opportunities. We're improving little by little”.

He is convinced that after the first league victory “things are going to change from here onwards. We're going to play better each time and always try to do our best”.

Along these lines he recalled what he had said in the past, stating that Dépor had a squad that should be “between eighth and twelfth place. It’s my opinion based on the team that there is. We're working on that. I have faith we're going to achieve it”.

When asked about Fede Valverde, he stated that “he’s phenomenal. He’s an important player. He’s going to help us a lot during the season. I expect that each time he plays, he’ll do better”.

On a personal level, he confessed that “I’m fine; better each day. I haven’t had good games. I think I’ll improve. I’m fine physically, and with more confidence now after the match against Alavés. I hope to improve each day”.
