Joselu was the centre of attention this morning in Abegondo’s press room. After scoring two goals in the Santiago Bernabéu yesterday, the Deportivista striker spoke to media after not having slept well the previous night. According to him, as soon as he arrived home at about 4am, he watched the whole match: “You get home late from the journey back and you can’t sleep. You end up trying to analyse what happened a few hours ago”.

Referring to what happened in Madrid, the blue and white forward said, “This has to affect us positively. Obviously it’s another defeat but, we have to focus on what we did well, which was a lot”. He then insisted, “From the first minute we played them at their own game. We were facing an amazing rival. We made them suffer; we hurt them. We didn’t have the pleasure of gaining any points, but let’s stick to everything we did well”.

For this reason, the Galician striker also added, “if we keep playing like this and if we go out every match the same way, many victories will come our way. And it’s what we need”.

Joselu also admitted that the team’s good dynamic after Real Sociedad’s match had come to a halt: “In the end, Real Madrid crossed our path. We’re doing everything possible to win. We’re not making things easy for our rivals. Victories will come. I’m absolutely convinced that the team won’t have any problems winning matches”.

Focused on this Sunday’s home game against Osasuna (6.30pm Bein Sports), Joselu said, “we can’t let any more points at home escape. The team is going to carry on forward and look ahead”.
