Juan Ángel Barros Botana, "Barritos" (A Coruña, 18 September 1952) has exercised his role as RC Deportivo’s first team delegate for the last time this afternoon in Viveiro. After weighing the different options offered to carry on forming part of the Club as a delegate or in other representative roles, due to the current economic and sporting situation of the institution, and also taking retirement into consideration because of his age, Barros Botana has decided to end his contract effective today under the legal terms of his longlasting contract.

Real Club Deportivo would like to thank Juan Ángel Barros for these three decades working in the Club since 3 February 1991, the date in which Barros debuted as a delegate in a match where Deportivo beat Rayo Vallecano 3-0 thanks to a hat-trick by Peio Uralde. Since then, he has taken part in over 1,400 official matches, hundreds of friendlies and Deportivo’s best years at a competitive level, all of the official titles and the experiences with multiple generations of Deportivistas are linked to his presence on the bench which he leaves today and he is wished extreme happiness in this new stage in life. Thank you Barritos for representing Deportivo and Deportivistas for three entire decades!
