Kakuta: “Every match is a final”

11/04/2017 20:23

After his outstanding performance last Saturday, scoring two goals against Sevilla, Kakuta spoke to the press in Abegondo this morning.

He stated “I’m not very happy because the result wasn’t good. I’m happy for having scored my first two goals for Dépor. I hope there will be more to come”.

He assured his performance had nothing to do with “revenge” for his time at Sevilla, a team in which he hardly participated because he was “injured most of the time”. “I just simply wanted to do my best to gain three points for the club I am in”, he added.

He admitted that the two goals “were good for me mentally, but at the moment the team is more important and we have to focus on the next match”.

He insisted that from now on “every match is a final. We have to try and get as many points from here to the end of the season”.

He explained that Pepe Mel told him to “enjoy, be myself, give my best, and help the team in whichever way I can”.

He said that the team “is working a lot to improve and correct the mistakes we made in the last matches. I hope this weekend (against Málaga in Riazor at 1 pm, Bein Sports), we can achieve this result. There is nothing strange in the dressing room”.

He expects this Saturday to “be a great game, a great challenge to obtain those points in order to get as many as we can from here to the end of the season”.

He admitted that “we concede goals and we can’t allow this”. To avoid this, he says the team has “to work every day, correct mistakes together, and train like we are training, as a team”.

Regarding his future, Kakuta said he is “enjoying my time in Dépor. I’m learning a lot. I like the Club, I like the city. Why not continue here?”
