Last week of competition before the Christmas break

Deportivo will face the last week of official competition before the Christmas break, with the first round of the Copa del Rey on Thursday at the ABANCA-RIAZOR against CD El Ejido (5:00 pm, TVG and Footters).
Just before the holidays, Dépor will play the 75th Edition of the Teresa Herrera Trophy, this Sunday at 12:00 pm at the ABANCA-RIAZOR against a combined team of amateur football players from Coruña.
Furthermore, there will be three morning training sessions in Abegondo from tomorrow.
The sad news of the day is that Jorge García Santos, a Deportivista goalkeeper for almost three decades and who only wore the Branquiazul strip throughout his professional career (1977 - 1991), passed away at noon at the age of 63.
Jorge, who was born in A Coruña on 10 August 1957, is one of the few "One Club Men" throughout the Club's 114-year history. His loyalty is summarised in the fact that he is the fifth footballer with the highest number of seasons in the first team, with 14, only behind Manuel Pablo, Fran and Acuña (18) and Chacho (15). In addition, he is twelfth in the ranking of games played, with 323 matches, making him the second goalkeeper who has defended the Deportivista badge the most times, being only outranked by Juan Acuña, with 381. Jorge conceded a total of 368 goals in those 323 games. R.I.P.
