Laure: "We have to keep our hearts set on improving"

In Abegondo’s press room this morning, our captain (Laure), expressed that following last Saturday’s draw (0-0) against Villarreal, he had left Riazor Stadium with “a bittersweet sensation. In the end, you want 3 points. We had better chances”.

On a personal note, he admitted being “happy about playing and for getting over his unlucky streak with injuries”. “I’ve been injured but I’ve worked hard waiting for this moment. It’s complicated to get back to playing because there are teammates that are doing well, the team is doing well. It’s worth all the hard work because you then feel good on the field”, he explained.

The winger believes that at this stage of the season “the team is fine. We are doing things well. We need points. We have to keep our hearts set on improving and gaining points because we’re still near the bottom and it’s important to get out of this situation”.

He doesn’t trust the rest of the teams that are at the bottom of the table: “Their luck can change at any moment, they can do better, they can do good matches, they obtain points. We need to have a larger difference”.

Asked about Kakuta, Laure sees him as “a player that can give us variety with a lot of skills. He is welcome here. There’s going to be tremendous competition for the wingers and in every other position, and that’s really good for the team”.
