Lucas Perez: “Having the stadium full tomorrow is a point in our favour”
Clarence Seedorf and Lucas Perez spoke to the press in Abegondo this morning.
The Coruña striker stated he was not surprised at the long queues to obtain a ticket for tomorrow’s game against Sevilla at the ABANCA-RIAZOR (7:30 pm, Bein LaLiga): “I’ve known Deportivo’s fans are there since I was small, they’re always going to be there, and they will be there with the situation the team is in. We have lived the best moments of the Club, now, we're living the moments we have been destined to live, and the fans have always been there, every year.”
He emphasized that he likes the fact that “the fans are hopeful again, which we took away from them with the season we’re having. We wish to thank them for their support during all these games that are difficult. With these two wins, they see the light at the end of the tunnel. They deserve to trust, to believe. It helps us too. Having the stadium full tomorrow is a point in our favour.”
He believes that tomorrow’s match is “very important after two wins, to be able to get closer to the objective, which is to remain in Primera. The public is responding. The tickets will be sold out in a time that’s difficult for them. The effort they're making is huge. What we hope to do is return this with a victory and get even more closer to Levante.
Seedorf, on the other hand, spoke of “good sensations” ahead of the match. “At the moment, our greatest concern is to recover all the players from what was a very intense match, with few hours to prepare and recover. They trained well today, they showed they have recovered well. But I’m sure that tomorrow they’ll be better,” he added.
He expects Sevilla to be “at their best. To face a final (referring to the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona next Saturday) it’s best to win the previous match. That’s what I thought when I used to play. Winning helps to win. This goes for them as for us. I hope they come to win.”
