Luisinho foresees a “quite demanding second round”

Luisinho was the centre of attention in Abegondo this morning. He assured that the dressing-room is aware that it is “in a complicated situation. We have to pull this through. It’s not going to be as easy as we expected. It’s going to be a quite demanding second round. We're the ones that put us down there, and we have to get out any way possible.”

He admitted that the Branquiazul players are aware that “the standings speak for themselves. We’re in an unpleasant situation, that doesn’t represent the Club. It’s normal that we’re self-critical and that we have to be more demanding with everything that’s going on. It’s not enough to come here and talk. We have to prove it on the pitch, get out of this situation.”

He repeated that the squad knows “the situation isn’t the best. The only solution now is to switch gears, change this mindset that hasn’t been working up until now. There’s no other way.”

Asked about the goals the team concedes, Luisinho believes “it’s not just the defence, it’s the team as a whole. At the moment, the 25 or 26 of us are to blame, not the 5 or 6 defenders. It’s not normal to just blame the defenders or the goalkeeper.”

Regarding Sunday’s match against Villarreal CF (6:30 pm, Bein LaLiga) at the Estadio de la Ceramica, he highlighted, “every match is going to be difficult from now on. We’re in a situation where we can’t fail. We know Villarreal’s potential, it’s a team that touches the ball well, they play well at home, they have good players. All the matches from now on are, I’m not going to say finals, but yes important. We cannot fail like we’ve failed up until now.”
