Luisinho highlighted in Abegondo's press room this morning that tomorrow's game at the Estadio do Dragao (8:30 pm Spanish Time - 7:30 pm Local Time - TVG) is “special because of the team it is. It’s a big team, my city’s team, because I’m from Porto. It’s always a pleasure playing these matches”.

The Deportivista full-back is aware that tomorrow’s encounter is “different to the ones we have been playing. It's a match everyone wants to play. I am looking forward to playing against my city’s team”.

The Portuguese defender stated that FC Porto is “very similar to what we’re going to find in La Liga. They're a strong rival. They’ve had a month's pre-season, they’re ready. It's a big team. They play ‘Champions’, their objective is to win the Portugues league. It’s going to be a difficult match. The matches in Galicia were to get fit, they weren’t as demanding. Now this match is totally different. We’re going to find many difficulties. It’s a bit more like the Spanish league”.

Regarding Dépor’s pre-season, Luisinho said “the team is training well, it’s competing well and even though these matches aren’t as demanding, we are taking them seriously. The group is shaping up how we want to be at the start of the league”.

He described the newcomers as “young, humble. They like to work. We’re pleased with them. We’re expecting a lot, that they can help us”.

He faces this new season in A Coruña with the intention of “improving myself. It’s a calmer year than the previous ones. I have to work to help Dépor, to help myself. I’m calm facing this new stage with the same confidence I finished the previous one”.

He admitted he would love to be captain, like he has been in some previous pre-season games, because “this has been my home for many years. I came at a complicated time for Deportivo. I’ve been through negative and positive moments. When you feel a Club it’s normal you would love to be captain. But I’m not obsessed with that. Whoever’s captain will do it well. If it were me, I’d be happy and delighted to represent the Club”.

With a year on his contract left, Luisinho revealed that “my agent has already been here in A Coruña. Things are on the right path. Let’s see what will happen in the future”.
