Minutes after cutting the ribbon in Deportienda’s opening ceremony in Marineda City’s new sports and leisure section, Pedro Mosquera stated that he sees the fans are excited ahead of the new season: “They never fail. They demonstrate it here, where there is a lot of people, and renewing their season tickets. We are delighted”.

He highlighted that Deportivismo “is the most important value we have, that Deportivo has, that the city has. It's something positive for the whole of A Coruña”.

Asked about the squad, the local midfielder said, “there are still plenty of days left before the season starts. There’s still time to incorporate new players. The ones that have already come are very excited, trying to improve on last year”.

Despite highlighting Florin Andone’s performance, he admitted it would be “positive” to reinforce this position as “there might be injuries or suspensions throughout the season”.

He explained that “the captains haven’t been chosen yet. What we all have to do is try to create a group, be a great team, compatible both on and off the pitch. Let's have a good atmosphere in the dressing room, and a good atmosphere between the team and the fans. It’s very important. We lost that a bit last year and I think we can recover it”.

Mosquera insisted that “we all have to row in the same direction. If we do this, I’m sure it will be a very good season".

He believes that this Saturday’s Teresa Herrera Trophy against West Bromwich Albion is “a very nice tournament. We’ve won the last two trophies and we will try and do the same this year. We will try to put on a good show for the fans”.

He described last Sunday’s match against Porto (which ended in Dépor’s first defeat of the summer) as “strange”: “FC Porto is a great team but we made mistakes that we usually wouldn’t make. We have to improve things, details, and try to play better”.
