Mosquera: "The league is very long and we’re all important"
Pedro Mosquera is one of the few players who has experience in the Cerro del Espino, where this Sunday’s match against Rayo Majadahonda will take place (12pm, LaLiga 1|2|3 TV), for the 16th fixture of LaLiga 1|2|3: "I played there during my time in Madrid. It’s going to be a complicated ground. I remember it’s small, with the supporters right on top of you. It’s going to be difficult.”
The captain recalled that Atletico Madrid’s b team plays there, and last week they received Fabril. "It’s the typical ground where the supporters are really close to the pitch. Although it doesn’t have the capacity for many people, they’ll be noticed."
Asked about Dépor's away performance, he admitted that “we are doing better at the ABANCA-RIAZOR than away. We’re ambitious. We want to do it better but knowing that playing away is complicated in this tier. Everybody’s leaving points behind. It would be great to achieve multiple victories because that would allow us to be a little calmer. We’re doing things well and if we stay along this path, I’m sure the away wins will come.”
He stated that the clash in Majadahonda was “the most important because we play two matches at the ABANCA-RIAZOR (against CD Numancia and Real Zaragoza). Winning away would be incredible because then, playing here with our people, we could take that step,” he highlighted.
He praised AD Alcorcon, leader of LaLiga 1|2|3, above Dépor in spite of the Branquiazuis only losing 1 match of 15: "Cristobal is doing a very good job. They’re a very organized team.” That said, he added that "this season is going to be very long, there are many matches left to be played and the league table will change.”
Along these lines, he agrees with Natxo Gonzalez that it is more important to remain in the top part than be first or second: "We want to be in that top position. We’ve played 15 matches, we're in a privileged position (second). We want to keep it that way as long as possible."
