Natxo González: "We have a lot in play, but they have much more"

Ahead of tomorrow's game at the ABANCA-RIAZOR (4:00 pm, LaLiga 1|2|3 TV), Natxo González does not believe that Nàstic de Tarragona's position in the league table is a true reflection of their potential.

He made this clear in his pre-match press conference: "We are old enough and have sufficient experience to know that they are one more barrier in this competition. We have the utmost respect as we have for all of them and we know that we are going to find it tough. We have a lot in play, but they have much more."

The Deportivista coach warned that the Catalan team "have performed real miracles to maintain themselves in this division in the last two years. We know that if we are not at our best level, we will not win the game."

Along these lines, he insisted, "I don't distinguish better teams or worse teams; I respect them all because of the competition they're in. If we don't do things well, we won't win the match. We're aware of that. We have to go out very focused and make sure that what happened against CD Tenerife doesn't happen again."

Regarding the side coached by Enrique Martín, he commented "they're very new. It's difficult to draw excessive conclusions. To top it all, they didn't compete last week. You can get some sort of idea from their match against Rayo Majadahonda and UD Las Palmas."

He foresees a match "of many 1v1s, very intense, very aggressive, uncomfortable. And for that, we have to give our best version in order to generate goal scoring opportunities. I don't consider them defensive, despite the fact that they may play with 3 centre-backs. They group a lot of people in the box and they're very powerful. They cross well and they're good in dead-ball situations."

Regarding Dépor's injured or banned players, the Branquiazul coach stated, "we all need each other, we're going to need each other to achieve our objectives. We have to respond to injuries and suspensions. And that will determine whether we're in the top half or bottom half."

He confirmed that Somma will be one of tomorrow's centre-backs: "I'm happy he has that opportunity tomorrow because his daily professionalism is impressive, despite not having much playing time. And I'm very pleased he has this opportunity."

Natxo González reminded the fans that "there are 9 matches left at the ABANCA-RIAZOR, multiplied by 3: 27 points. If we achieved all those points, we would be at the top there. They are fundamental and I urge them to give us a hand in adverse situations, when things aren't going well. That's when we need their support the most. Many of them are always there supporting us but the more generalised this is, the better, because we're going to need them. We all have much more in play in term of points as time goes by, those at the top and those at the bottom. They're decisive and it may help us."

Asked about the two Fabrilistas in the squad, Montiel and Arturo Segado, he acknowledged that "it's difficult that two guys from the B team can change, in an important area as is creating play, the course of the game."
