New 2019-2020 Deportivo Player! Sabin Merino

Deportivo have signed Sabin Merino Zuloaga (Urduliz, Vizcaya, 4 January 1992) until June 2022. After passing his medical in Madrid, the player came to A Coruña last night and will train under Fernando Vázquez's orders from today at 10:30am. 

Sabin Merino is a striker who came up Athletic and Danok Bat's ranks. He also spent a year in studying and training in Louisville (USA), where he played for Javanon FC.

Back in Spain, Athletic signed him as a Basconia player; the Basque club's third team. He then promoted to Bilbao Athletic, where he completed two entire seasons in Segunda B, and in which he played a total of 81 matches and scored 21 goals, 18 of them playing a key role in the Bilbao Athletic's promotion to the Silver Competition in 2014-2015. 

In 2015-2016 he joined Athletic's first team, where he got off to a great start winning the Spanish Supercopa, Athletic's first title in over three decades. He spent 4 seasons in Athletic, playing a total of 75 matches (48 in Primera, 19 in Europa League, 7 in Copa del Rey and 1 Supercopa), and scoring 8 goals. 

The last two seasons he has played for CD Leganés, the first on loan and the second he was transferred. He has played 18 games for the Madrid side (14 in Primera and 4 in Copa).
