Romanian international, Costel Pantilimon, was the centre of attention after today’s Deportivo training session in Abegondo.

Signed at the last minute on loan from Watford, he stated that “I adapted easily and quickly to Deportivo”.

With the team in the relegation zone, the Deportivista keeper said, “it’s normal people expect more from us. We have a good squad, a good coach. I hope we win soon to release some of the pressure”.

Asked about Pepe Mel’s situation, Pantilimon believes “he is doing a great job. Obviously, the results from our side are not good. But he is working to improve this. I think it’s good for us to continue and not discuss this. We are working to improve the results. Everyone is responsible for the results. It’s the team that wins and the team that loses”.

He is aware that the team did not make the correct decisions in defence: “But we’re all to blame. We are working hard in the trainings to improve and correct mistakes. If we continue working, we will play much better in the future”.

For this Saturday’s encounter at the Estadio ABANCA-RIAZOR against Getafe (1 pm, Bein LaLiga), Pantilimon believes, “we have the same responsibility. It’s important to win the next game because it’s important for us. And obviously for the fans to be proud of us”.

On an individual note, he sees he is “improving match after match. I’m not happy with the results. We have to improve. I have to improve. I feel good, I’m working hard to improve”.
