Dépor captain, Pedro Mosquera, spoke to the press in Abegondo this morning.

At the end of the transfer window, the local midfielder believes that “There’s a good squad. We have good players and now, all that’s left is to prove it on the pitch and do a good season”.

He praised Fede Valverde, who arrived this afternoon from playing with Uruguay’s national team, and attended the presentation of the new signings at the Estadio ABANCA-RIAZOR: “He’s a young player, but has very good things. I’m sure he’s going to prove it this year, here, with us”. “From what I’ve seen of him in pre-season, he’s a great player and he’s well-liked because he’s a young and timid lad”, he added.

He admitted that the draw against Levante left the squad with a bittersweet taste: “It's true we got a point away from home, but it’s also true that the way the game was going we should have got three points. The vibes weren’t very good in that match. So, we’re looking forward to playing at home, because over the last few years it’s where we are best. And try and get three points against a great rival”.

He sees Lucas “better and fitter each day. We know the rest. He has special characteristics to play football, as well as bringing joy to the changing rooms, which is always good”.

He also revealed that “there’s healthy competition in all positions, from the goalkeepers to the centre-forwards. That’s really good. There’s where we're trying to do our best in the training sessions to make it difficult for the coach”.

Regarding Sunday’s game against Real Sociedad at the Estadio ABANCA-RIAZOR (12 pm, Bein LaLiga), he recalled that “last season’s match was really good. We hope it’s the same this year and grab three points which would give us that push higher”.

He described the Basque side as “one of the six, seven best teams of the league. They play really good football. It’s going to be a very complicated match. They have very good players and the coach makes them play really well”.
