Seedorf: “Once again, we proved to be a team that competes until the end”
Clarence Seedorf stated in Balaidos’ press room that “the result is fair.” The Dutch coach saw “a lot of balance in everything” throughout the 95 minutes of the match.
He acknowledged that #ONOSODERBI was “difficult on an emotional level. Set things right, but you can’t always do this when you want to.”
He believes Deportivo in the first half “played well defensively, but we were unable to create our game. We played a little better in the second half. But the match was very competitive, as derbies always are, very passionate, some hard tackles. Once again, we proved to be a team that competes until the end. Equalising at the end says a lot about the group, where they are mentally, knowing the difficulties there are.”
Asked about Lucas, Seedorf commented, “I always said he was playing very well, he was competing well, he was working well for the team. He wasn’t scoring. It has happened a little late, but it’s part of sports.”
