Sidnei was the centre of attention in Abegondo this morning. The Brazilian centre-back stated that the dressing toom is aware of the significance of Saturday’s match at the Estadio ABANCA-RIAZOR against UD Las Palmas (1 pm, Bein LaLiga). “It’s a final. We know. We have to start changing this dynamic,” he emphasized.

Hence, he warned, “we cannot think about anything else other than gaining 3 points on Saturday. We’re only thinking about winning. We can’t think about anything else.”

During those 90 minutes, “we cannot make any mistakes. We have to give our all, from start to finish, because we have to win full-stop.”

He admitted that “it’s quite burdening” not having won for such a long time: “Many times we do well, and we end up without 3 points. That ends up burdening a bit.”

Regarding last Friday’s match against Girona, Sidnei regretted having let the match slip away “in two dead-ball situations. It was a pity because we went there for 3 points.”

Sidnei urged the fans to “carry on supporting us as always. We're confident. We have the team to put this situation behind us and together I’m sure we’re going to pull this off.”

The Branquiazul defender insisted that the Deportivistas “have to believe. We’re working to achieve the objective. I’m sure the fans are going to do what they always do. They’re always there supporting us. We’re working to leave this situation and give them some joy.”

He is convinced that the team reacted in the last fixtures: “People that watch Deportivo matches know we deserve many more points than what we have. At the end of the day, this is football. No matter how well you work, it’s the results that count. And we’re not achieving that.”

He gave the Levante and Eibar matches as examples, where the team drew at the Estadio ABANCA-RIAZOR, with 10 men throughout most of the two matches. However, Sidnei concluded that, “we have to carry on. We cannot ponder on what has already happened.”
