The team prefer the first half and admit the local team were much better in the second
Adrian Lopez and Pedro Mosquera spoke to the press in Mendizorroza’s mixed zone.
The Asturian striker confessed, “we’re upset. We came with enthusiasm and looking forward to playing a good match here.”
In his opinion, “we played well in the first half. In the second we were unable to create any threats like we did in the first half.”
He recalled that Alaves is “a team that pushes, they're on a roll. They’re a strong team at home.”
Adrian urged the team “to rise and think about the next game, which is very important for us. We have to try and continue working, continue improving, and in the end, the victory will come.” “What's important is for us not to get down and carry on,” he added.
Pedro Mosquera acknowledged “we’re in a difficult situation. We knew the match was crucial for us, we said it during the week, and we let it slip because of details.”
The Coruña midfielder believes that Dépor is “going through a difficult time. We find it hard to win games, gain points. We haven’t won in a long time. We’re working but we haven't achieved the victory we need to gain some confidence. It has to happen this weekend.”
Just like Adrian, Mosquera believes that the first half was “equal. But they came out better in the second half and that's when they took the lead. We found it hard to react. We tried it with long balls and through balls. But they defended well, and we found it extremely tough.”
