What a magical night at the ABANCA-RIAZOR! (4-0)

20/10/2021 22:32

Dépor go through to the second round of the UEFA Youth League after making a remarkable comeback against MKS Pogoń Szczecin, who arrived in A Coruña with a three-goal advantage from the first leg.

Once again, ABANCA-RIAZOR hosted one of those spectacular nights in which #ANOSAFORZA (our supporters) and #ANOSACANTEIRA (our Academy) rekindled the magic from the past. As almost 9,000 supporters spurred the boys on, the Branquiazuis went on to level the first leg's result within the first thirty minutes.

The swift and lively pace of the Branquiazuis in the first half began to wear off after the interval, in which Pogoń Szczecin began to have clearer chances. However, Dépor endured the heat and soon began to recover territory and prowl the rival's goal. The boys sealed the game in stoppage time with an unstoppable right-footed shot fired into the top corner of the far post.

Our U19s will now go on to face Maccabi Haifa FC for the Second Round of the UEFA Youth League. The first leg will take place on the 3rd of November in A Coruña, and the second leg will be on the 24th of November in Israel.
