Arribas: "I'm keen and ready"

Alejandro Arribas, who scored yesterday's equaliser in Mendizorroza against Alavés, spoke to the press in Abegondo today.

Referring to yesterday's result he said, " I'm not very happy because it was a very good opportunity to get through to the quarter-finals and continue playing matches; which I think is important, especially for those who are playing less. It is important to carry on competing at a high level, so when the day comes you're ready".

On a personal level, our central defender highlighted it was "another goal and I'm happy having scored it".

Regarding yesterday's match against Alavés, Arribas said, "the game went in our favour when one of their players got sent off in the 48th or 49th minute. We drew in ten minutes. That was our chance, we were a step away from progressing to the next round. What the coach said: we weren't patient with the ball, we were a goal away from getting through, and reaching the rival's area with more ease. We had our opportunities and their goalkeeper was faultless".

Speaking about how this season is going for him, he said "I do my job. I get paid for it. I try to do my best and I'm ready for whenever the coach wants. I still haven't been chosen to play in the league yet, and I hope he'll pick me someday".

Alejandro Arribas' objective is to "continue working to have my chance to play in the league. In my case I carry on working every day so that someday I can get picked, which hasn't happened this season".

He admitted being disappointed: "Everyone who does not play is disappointed for not being able to participate more. Every game I've played I try to do what I'm here to do. I've done my best. There you have it. It's not my decision, it's the coach's. I will continue working so that if one day I get chosen, I can do what I've been doing up to now, or better".

For this reason, he insists he is "keen and ready so that if the moment comes and I'm picked, I'll be prepared".
