Raul Albentosa has been chosen by the fans as Real Club Deportivo’s Estrella Galicia Player of the Month (March). The award was given to him in Abegondo Training Centre.

March’s three finalists (all had the same points), chosen by the press who cover RC Deportivo news were Lucas (13 votes), Albentosa, Andone and Sidnei (10 votes each). The matches taken into account were Eibar, Girona and Las Palmas. The results on Twitter and Facebook were the following: 3,840 votes on Twitter (41% Albentosa, 29% Andone, 19% Lucas and 11% Sidnei) and 91 on Facebook (42.9% Andone, 26.4% Albentosa, 19.8% Lucas and 11.0% Sidnei).

Hence, Albentosa now forms part of the list of the 2017-2018 Estrella Galicia Players along with Andone (January and February), Luisinho (September), Fede Valverde (October), Fabian Schär (November) and Adrian Lopez (December).

The centre-back from Alcira received the award from the innkeeper of the month: Juan Beneitez de Vita.k, Calle Galera, 13 (A Coruña), accompanied by Cristian Martin, Estrella Galicia’s commercial rep. Raul handed him a signed framed shirt.

Raul Albentosa then thanked the press, who choose the finalists, “and also the fans, that in this difficult situation, have acknowledged my work and I appreciate it with all my heart as I am very grateful on a personal level,” he stated before wishing the team luck for the rest of the season.
