Guilherme was the centre of attention in Abegondo this morning.

He confessed he is “happy” that Celso Borges and Fede Valverde have qualified for the World Cup, “and I think Fabian (Schär) is going in the same direction. The more people, the merrier”.

Speaking about Eibar, Dépor’s rival this Sunday in Ipurua (12 pm, Bein LaLiga), the Deportivista midfielder highlighted, “they’re strong at their ground. We know it’s difficult, it’s a small ground. We have to compete and give our all. It’s a difficult match but we’re also aware we can bring home a victory”.

With Pedro Mosquera’s comeback nearer, Guilherme is not afraid of the competition in the team’s midfield, on the contrary, he said, “he will contribute, in the training sessions and in the games”.

The Brazilian footballer believes, “we have to prove we can”, starting on Sunday against Eibar.

On a personal level, he said “the first three or four games I wasn’t Guilherme. I’m feeling more like myself each time. The coach has given me the chance to play every match. I work for it. Now I’m going to try and always do my best".

Along these lines, the footballer explained “I always have to think about giving more. I didn’t start too well. I’m improving, training, and I’m physically better each time. I feel fine. Now I have to enjoy it and try and always do what’s best”.

Asked about Dépor’s bad statistics away from the Estadio ABANCA-RIAZOR, Guilherme stated, “we can’t accept this. It’s a difficult situation for us. It can’t happen. A First Division team can't allow that to happen. We’re working to play away and gain points”.

Guilherme said the team needs “to focus a little more, and try not to concede any goals in the first stage. We have quality players from the midfield up. We can score any moment. There are very good individual players. The idea is not to concede any goals, and I’m sure we’ll score”.
