After the 72nd edition of the Teresa Herrera Trophy, Pepe Mel highlighted that “we took the initiative when it was eleven against eleven. I know the rival well, I know they defend very well. They are very compact, very tough and very strong. I knew it would be a good test to see if we were able to break lines, move the ball quickly. Perhaps that's what we did a little worse. We have to improve that aspect too. The ball has to move quicker”.

The Branquiazul coach concluded that he is “satisfied in general with the work, the intention, for carrying the weight of the game at all times. It’s always good for our first home game, in front of our people, and winning. Beyond the fact that they were then one man down, we were better”.

West Bromwich coach, Tony Pulis highlighted that “the sending off had a big bearing on the game. After the lad was sent off, our players became a little bit concerned in respect of playing the way we play in England”.

He then wished Dépor a good season and thanked them for the experience: “We've enjoyed the day, it's a wonderful city, a wonderful place, the people have been very, very friendly and we wish them all the best for next season”.
