Gaizka Garitano, Deportivo's coach, was pleased by his team's performance against Real Sociedad but "especially for the three points."

"It was a good day for us and we are happy. We needed these three points badly. We needed to win, we had to win one way or another, and to top it all, we did it playing well."

"Dépor has been playing well for some time, it's not normal that we haven’t got more points with everything we’ve been doing, when you are not rewarded week after week, it's hard. I'm very happy for the lads and also for the fans, who enjoyed it. They deserve it ", asserts Garitano.

He also said that the key to the outcome of the game was "if we had not scored the fourth goal, we would have ended up suffering. We knew that a goal against us at the beginning of the second half could have made us nervous".

The coach thought it was too early to start rejoicing after the 5-1 win. "We still haven’t done much, we can´t forget that we are in a delicate situation. It is a day to enjoy but tomorrow we have to start thinking about Saturday's game".

Asked about Ryan Babel's future, whose contract ends this month, Garitano was adamant. "I would like him to stay. We count on him, we like him a lot, and it took us a long time to get him match-ready, so it would be a shame that now he is fit, that he should leave."

"The team has played remarkably well and has been rewarded for its hard work", concluded Coruña's coach.

Eusebio Sacristan, Real Sociedad’s coach recognized Deportivo’s "superiority", although his players "tried to give their maximum at all times".

"There has been a far more superior team and this is proof that this is a very competitive league where all the rivals are good teams," said the Basque team’s coach.

“They were tactically superior and I was unable to find the solution that would make us feel more comfortable and stronger, and to avoid Dépor's through balls, which were causing us a lot of harm".
