Deportivista coach, Gaizka Garitano, admitted that they are in “a difficult situation”. That he was aware that it was a match that “was going to be decided by one goal”, and he acknowledged that the public’s reaction after losing against Alavés is “logical”.

"It was a crucial match, it's a very hard time," said Garitano, who highlighted that his team’s game "was very good in the fisrt half, we had chances to score but we didn’t get them in. We were worse in the second half, especially after they scored”.

“We knew the match was going to be decided by one goal and it ended up being in their favour”, said the blue-and-white coach, who acknowledged that they’re “in a difficult situation; that’s what happens when the team doesn’t win”.

About the public’s reaction, Garitano stated that “it’s logical that people aren’t happy, because we’re not winning”. The Deportivista coach spoke about what lies ahead: “Now we just have to get up. When you receive a blow like the one today, you just have to carry on, know that we have to go to Leganés and play a final”.

Alavés coach, Mauricio Pellegrino, highlighted the problems that Dépor created for them in the first half, and celebrated the strength his men showed in the second half to gain the three points.

“It was a disputed game, very difficult. In the first half, Dépor created many problems for us with their players between lines and their crosses. We were stronger in the second half, we had better control and we made the most of the situation to bring the game home”, said the Argentinian coach. Regarding the penalty they were awarded, and another in a later action which the players thought they deserved, he said “I think the second one is more blatant than the first”.
