Clarence Seedorf explained in Abegondo’s press room why he is taking 21 players to Vitoria (all the ones available), to face Alaves tomorrow (6:30 pm, Bein LaLiga): “It’s important for all of us to be together at the moment.”

He assured that the Branquiazul players “have had an intense week, with good training sessions and good sensations.”

Regarding his debut against Betis last Monday, Seedorf highlighted that Dépor were “organised throughout the 90 minutes, tactically disciplined. We saw an enthusiastic team, that worked, that fought from the first minute to the very last. This is the base. This is going to grow. I’m sure the organisation aspect is also going to improve, the courage to play the ball when you can, create play when you can create.”

He highlighted that when the match finished, the players’ faces did not reflect “sadness, but frustration for not having gained points. Nobody is down, because we understood that we played a good match.”

He does not believe that tomorrow’s game in Mendizorroza is a final for Deportivo: “This match is not going to determine this year’s success. It’s 3 points and that’s what we’re thinking about. Nothing else but 3 points, important like the others.”

To achieve a good result, he wants the team to “play together, think together. We have to attack and defend together.”
